These differ from the rules that hold nationally — they are the ones that catch out drivers who studied another state’s handbook.

2. On a Nevada divided highway, you are required to stop for a school bus with flashing red lights:

- Only when traveling in the same direction as the school bus

Answer: Only when traveling in the same direction as the school bus. The Nevada Driver’s Handbook states there is one exception: on divided highways, you are only required to stop when you are traveling in the same direction as the school bus.

1. An orange triangle with a red border on the back of a vehicle means it:

Answer: Travels well below normal traffic speed. The slow-moving vehicle emblem marks farm equipment and similar vehicles. Closing speed is much higher than it appears.

2. A large truck ahead of you swings left before turning right. You should:
- Stay back and never move into the gap on its right
- BSound your horn to correct the driver
- CMove alongside its left door
- DPass on the right side while there is room
Answer: Stay back and never move into the gap on its right. Long vehicles must swing wide to clear the corner. The gap on the right is where the trailer will sweep through.

3. Why should you avoid lingering beside a large truck?

Answer: The area may be a large blind spot. Large vehicles have substantial blind areas along both sides and behind. Pass efficiently and do not cut closely in front.
