Effective July 25, 2026. QuizLane is built so you can practice before creating an account. This notice explains what we store, what stays in your browser, and how optional analytics work.
Who we are
QuizLane is an independent educational practice service operated at quizlane.org. Contact privacy requests at privacy@quizlane.org.
Guest use
Practice attempts, bookmarks, and state preference are stored in your browser using IndexedDB. Clearing site data for quizlane.org removes them. Guest practice does not require an email address.
Optional analytics
With your permission, QuizLane uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page views, navigation, general engagement, approximate region, and browser or device categories. The Google tag does not load until you allow analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain denied. QuizLane does not send practice answers, email addresses, or account identifiers to Google Analytics. Change or withdraw your choice anytime with Privacy choices in the footer.
First-party usage measurement
QuizLane also collects a small set of anonymous usage measurements on its own server: pages viewed, practice starts and completions, site searches, and error reports. No cookies are used. A random identifier stored in your browser lets us count returning visits without knowing who you are, and IP addresses are hashed with a key that rotates daily — the raw address is never stored. These measurements are retained for 90 days and are never shared with third parties. Clearing site data for quizlane.org resets the identifier.
Optional accounts
If you request a magic-link sign-in, QuizLane processes your email address, verification token, session cookie, and any study history you choose to sync. We use that data to authenticate you and restore progress across devices. We do not sell personal information or run behavioral advertising.
Retention and security
Account and session records are kept while the account is active and for a limited period afterward needed for security, abuse prevention, and backup integrity. We use HTTPS in production and limit staff access to systems that hold account data.
Children
QuizLane is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.
Your choices
You can clear browser storage, withdraw analytics consent, and email privacy@quizlane.org to request access, correction, or deletion of account data we hold. We may need enough information to verify the request.
Changes
If this notice changes in a material way, we will update the effective date on this page.
