Answer: 20 feet from the front or rear of the school vehicle. Transportation Article §21-706 requires stopping at least 20 feet from the rear or front of a school vehicle operating alternately flashing red lights, and not proceeding until the vehicle resumes motion or the lights are deactivated.

2. On a Maryland divided highway, if a school vehicle is on a different roadway, the stop-for-school-vehicle rule:
